I know that some of you might have thought that I stopped the development of the OpenPLC. Indeed I stopped it for a while because I was too much focused on getting approved on a PhD course. Now I'm finally a PhD Student at the University of Alabama in Huntsville! This means that the OpenPLC Project will finally continue.
So, to update all of you guys that are regularly checking the website, I'm rewriting the OpenPLC Software Stack to make it more generic. The idea is to port it to as many platforms as possible, so that cheap hardware boards like Arduino, Raspberry Pi and even the ESP8266 could be used as a real PLC.
The first step for it to happen is to rewrite the Ladder compiler. The new compiler is called OPLC Compiler, and it will run on anything that has a CPU!
